I will be out most of this week at a conference in Denver (returning Friday). Monday - Students create a “Pinterest Board” for one of the 4 countries (Brazil, Cuba, Mexico, or Venezuela). They should include 4 “pins”. The pins should be about: climate, natural resources, location, and trade. Students will write a summary (underneath the picture) to explain what the significance is to the topic. Example: If my board is about Cuba, I could draw an umbrella/rain jacket. My summary would need to be something about Cuba having a rainy season from May to October.
Tuesday - Gallery Walk of Pinterest Boards from yesterday. Students leave specific positive feedback on a post-it note for each. Work through PPT Latin American Governments: Brazil, Mexico, and Cuba (41 slides) Students complete graphic organizer as directed by the teacher. Pass out QUICK GUIDE TO GOVERNMENTS (on cardstock for their binders) Homework: Triple Venn Diagram
Wednesday - Students arrange themselves in groups of 4. Students use each other’s homework and/or binders and make a large Venn Diagram on chart paper comparing the 3 countries and their government systems. They may add pictures, color, etc. Homework: Google activity
Thursday - Students arrange themselves in groups of 4. Pass out a large copy of the GOOGLE SEARCH PAPER. Students use each other’s homework and compile a list for a country of their choice. They may add pictures, color, etc. Homework: Government Foldable
