I will be out of town Monday thru Thursday this week at an Expeditionary Learning Conference in Denver, Colorado. The students will practice all week for their Unit test the following week. Students will review the following learning targets: NS.1 – 1. I can solve word problems involving division of fractions by fractions. 2. I can represent the context of a fraction word problem using a variety of models. NS.2 – 3. I can fluently divide multi-digit numbers. NS.3 – 4. I can fluently add, subtract, multiply, and divide multi-digit decimals. NS.4 – 5. I can find the greatest common factors of two whole numbers (up to 100). 6. I can find the least common multiple of two whole numbers (less than or equal to 12). 7. I can use the distributive property to express a sum of two whole numbers. Monday: Students will work on a group chart explaining the concepts from this unit. The group will present the poster on Tuesday. Homework - GCF/LCM activity
Tuesday - Work on LCM and GCF word problems in class. Groups will present their charts to the class. Homework - Your Name in Gold!
Wednesday - Students begin work on a number fluency project - all on their own- all in school. The teachers may help if it is a directional issue, but this culminating project should reflect what they know and have learned. Students will have two days...and will plan it out first before putting it on a mini poster. Homework - Decimal Operations
Thursday - Finish up fluency poster. Homework - Division and Distributive Property
Friday - I AM BACK! Students complete a HALLOWEEN DECIMAL SCAVENGER HUNT - traveling around the room solving 10 decimal problems with a Halloween theme!
Then students check their answers to get a HALLOWEEN TREAT!
