This week, we will finish up and review for Unit 5 - Expressions Expect a test on this Unit on Friday. Tuesday: exploring equivalent expressions MCC6.EE.4 Identify when two expressions are equivalent (i.e., when the two expressions name the same number regardless of which value is substituted into them.) For example, the expressions y + y + y and 3y are equivalent because they name the same number regardless of which number y stands for. I can prove (using various strategies) that two equations are equivalent no matter what number is substituted. Examples: y + y +y = 3y 4x + 3x = 7 9x – 3x = 6x
Wednesday and Thursday will be spent reviewing the 4 standards for the test on Friday. Please make sure you child is in school ALL DAY on Friday! THANKS
