This week we finish up our study of Latin America. Our learning targets this week are:
We will test on Latin American history on Wednesday, Dec. 17. The final unit test on Latin America (covering their features, environmental issues, government, economic factors, and history) will be Thursday, Dec. 18. Monday - 12/8 - Using GO, work through PPT Latin American Independence Movement – slides 1 – 29-to learn about Toussaint L’Ouverture, Simon Bolivar, & Miguel Hidalgo. HOMEWORK - (DUE WEDNESDAY) Reading/questions and project choice (What’s in your Wallet? or Historical Marker)
Tuesday - 12/9 - 4-H Meeting Wednesday - 12/10 - Using GO, work through PPT The Cuban Revolution (28 slides). Students work with a partner to read and answer questions about the Cuban Revolution. HOMEWORK - Dumpster Diving Activity
Thursday - 12/11 - Using GO, work through PPT The Zapatista Movement (16 slides). Students work in groups with reading/questions Power to the People?A Case Study of the Zapatista Movement. Homework: Choice: Zapatista Action Figure or Opinion paragraph
Friday - 12/12 - Students work in groups to complete picture analysis activity. Then students work on Latin America History Study Guide.
